Who can take part?
For those that participated in the Year 7 programme in 25/26, you will automatically move to the Year 8 programme in 26/27 – there is no need to register again here – we will be in touch with details.
What is involved?
think strategically and solve problems. Multiplicative reasoning underpins approximately two thirds of the content of GCSE Maths, and this focus will allow departments to fully understand its implications for KS3 teaching.
- NCETM Resources to be delivered as appropriate in your setting.
- Attending 3 (face to face) full day training sessions (one per term) which includes joining the national sessions online across the day.
- Participation in an online professional learning community (Basecamp) to reflect on approaches and deepen understanding.
What will you learn?
You will explore effective ways to teach multiplicative reasoning, share strategies and use carefully-designed classroom resources and guidance materials to improve your teaching.
What is the cost?
This programme is fully-funded by the Maths Hub programme so is provided completely free to state-funded Secondary schools.

3 face to face sessions, 9:00 -16:00, based in Woking.
7 October 2026, 14 January and 20 April 2027
(Note: Participants on the Year 8 programme do not need to register and will be provided with the dates/venue details via email).
What should I do next?
Registration is now open. You may register up to two teacher participants per school.
If you were in the 25/27 Year 7 programme we will contact you separately as you automatically move to a separate Year 8 programme.
