Train to become a Local Leader of Maths Education.

GN Maths Hub

How Maths hubs can support leadership development

All the Maths Hub programmes are designed to develop teachers as Local Leaders of Maths Education (LLME) who lead various strands of activity for their Maths Hub at a local level.   At a national level there are over 1500 active LLMEs leading Maths Hub Work Groups and programmes.

As well as leading Work Groups and programmes, LLMEs are brought together in professional development communities, particularly at a local Maths Hub level:

  • Collaborative practice and evidence-based research underpin the LLMEs own professional learning
  • LLMEs meet regularly to consider how to develop their expertise in leading maths subject knowledge and pedagogy, maths professional development and maths school development.

Watch a short presentation from Becky Shepherd, Maths Hub Lead, on how becoming an LLME can support professional development in school.

How does this complement in-school development?
